How to use the webdemo
- Visualize iterations - checkbox -
If checked, the drawn tree is extended horizontally such that the order of iterations is visible along the horizontal axis.
- Select source - selection menu -
Select a distribution of symbols, one of following is possible:
- Fixed 16 probabilities: A fixed set of probabilities preselected in the webdemo code
- Random: A set of probabilities is generated randomly. You need to provide number of symbols for this (default: 16). In the animated step-by-step webdemo, you also have to specify number of animation frames which should be two more than the number of symbols.
- Own source: you can upload a text file containing the occurence probabilities (see below)
- Number of symbols - positive integer $\leq$ 36 -
For randomly generated sources only, specify here the size of the source. To avoid bad-looking graphs, only values below 36 are accepted.
- Number of frames (animated webdemo only) - Number of symbols + 2 -
For randomly generated sources in animation webdemos: Privide here the number of animation frames which has to be "Number of symbols + 2"
- Probs File - a text file from your file system -
You can upload here a simple text file from your computer. It has to contain one probability value per line and you have to take care that the sum of all probabilities is 1.
- bit annotation - 0 or 1 more probable -
Value of the bit assigned to more probable branches. Becomes automatically the (slightly) more probable bit value in the coded symbol stream.
